During their 1998 playoff run, the Yankees lost outfielder Darryl Strawberry during the ALDS as he underwent surgery to treat colon cancer. In support of their teammate, the Yankees wore special hats during the World Series with his #39 embroidered at the rear.
In commemoration of the 1998 season, we’ve recreated the #39 embroidery on a limited run of 39 caps, creating the most faithful reproduction of the on-field World Series hat to date. To honor Darryl, a portion of all proceeds from the hat will be donated to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
100% wool, grey undervisor, made in China. Left side patch with flat embroidered Batterman and custom #39 embroidery at the rear.
